As you walk on to Shipwrecks Beach in Poipu, facing the water, and turn to the left you’ll see a bluff. If you walk to the end of the beach and walk up the trail that takes you to the top of that bluff, that’s the beginning of Mahaulepu Beach Trail. It’s safe for kids, easy to hike, and relatively short. There’s an upper and lower trail but both lead to the same place. There’s also a few little coves to look for treasures. It was raining when we went so we wore ponchos. Still beautiful even on a cloudy day.

Beautiful day. Crystal clear water. Super fun surf.
I can’t believe we’ve lived here for over 5 years and never been to this spot. It felt like a southside Kalapaki.
Surf was sweet and everyone was so nice.
One uncle guy even gave me a whistle to let me know a wave was coming. I quickly turned and grabbed it. He told me he was surprised I knew what it meant and turned so fast, most just look around confused. I told him the uncles at Kalapaki do it too, so when he whistled it felt like home.
We’re best friends now 😉
